Don't Call It a Makeup Wipe, IT's A CLEER SKIN CLOTH™

Posted by Monique Davis on

Soap bars, foams, gels, and even makeup wipes have long been staples of our skincare routines.  Paired with bacteria harboring brushes, sponges & the densely woven fabric of regular wash cloths, the way we remove makeup and dirt from our faces hasn't changed much over the years.

However, did you know that most cleansers are packed with harsh chemical inclusions, & makeup wipes  and other common cleansing towelettes contain drying alcohols and preservatives that can irritate and damage your sensitive facial skin?

We have been hearing whispers of the word "wipe" being associated with our one of a kind flagship product and your NEW favorite cleanser, the CLEER SKIN CLOTH™.  As we launch and work hard to champion simple skincare solutions, we wanted to take a moment to nip that chatter in the bud immediately.

Our innovative and original cleansing cloth is way more than a wipe or some dry towel, it's your gentle cleanser infused into a super soft, yet extremely durable eco-friendly cloth.  Our founder (a licensed esthetician of 6+ years) spent over 1.5 years testing materials and formulas to bring you this new cleansing method to ensure that you could experience a quick, efficient cleanse free of the harsh chemicals and burn of regular wipes or the single use flimsiness of other cleansing towelettes.

We want to put a stamp on this cleanser as your skins new best friend and let it be known straight away that this no wipe! In this blog post, we'll explore why traditional makeup wipes are actually not the best choice for cleansing your skin, they're not even made for that, & introduce you to a better alternative – the one and only, CLEER SKIN CLOTH™.

Why Makeup Wipes are Harmful to Your Skin

Most makeup wipes are made with synthetic fibers and are soaked in a cocktail of chemicals, including preservatives, fragrances, and harsh surfactants. These chemicals can strip your skin of its natural oils, disrupt its pH balance, and cause irritation and inflammation. In fact, some makeup wipes have been known to cause chemical burns, especially around the eyes and mouth. It seems in recent years the chemical burn from makeup wipes is becoming more of a regular occurrence, and you don't have to look any further than the ingredient list on these wipes to know why!

Additionally, makeup wipes don't actually clean your skin properly. As an esthetician I would see many clients who would claim that their cleansing routine consisted of "cleansing" their skin with a makeup wipe. I was actually quite appalled by the claim.  They may remove some surface dirt and makeup, but they don't thoroughly cleanse deep into your pores or provide any gentle exfoliation, which can lead to breakouts and other skin issues.  Ever wonder why after using a makeup wipe to remove makeup you STILL end up actually washing our face......yeah, do we even have to say it?!

Think about it like this:

The word wipe literally by definition means to "rub the surface" and the word cleanse by definition means to make (something, especially the skin) thoroughly clean.  So which would you rather been doing, wiping your skin with a makeup remover or cleansing your skin deeply & throughly with the gentle lather of your new cleanser infused cloth?

We thought so 🥹🧻🧼🫧

Not only is the CLEER SKIN CLOTH better for your skin, but it's also better for the environment. Unlike traditional makeup wipes, which end up in landfills and take hundreds of years to decompose, the viscose fibers that make up your CLEER SKIN CLOTH™ are organic, compostable and biodegradable, making it a more sustainable, eco-friendly choice.

The only comparison that we want to make between the CLEER SKIN CLOTH and a traditional wipe is that you NEVER want to flush either product!  In fact flushing anything other than organic waste material or simple toilet paper is an all around bad idea! Simply put, because there are no added dyes, artificial fragrance or bleach, and the natural viscose fiber will break down within weeks after being disposed so you never even need to consider flushing the CLEER SKIN CLOTH !

In summary, if you're looking for a, simple, gentle, fast and effective way to cleanse your skin, ditch your makeup wipes.  They're simply not made for cleansing.  Supplement your soap bars, gels, foams, brushes, and sponges with a more sanitary, multi-use solution &  switch to the CLEER SKIN CLOTH .
